Daddy's new Ride. wooohooo!

Yes it's the 2007 Kymco people 50 scooter and it is sweet. Here is the specs... I got it with 5 miles on it brand new for $2200, it gets 100 miles TO THE TANK which costs 3.60 to fill up. Top speed is 45-50 mph, but I can upgrade to a 70cc and go 60.

Since there is no law in Colorado for 50 cc scooters I don't have to license it. Full coverage insurance for a year is 177.00. I am saving BIG BUCKS so go ahead and laugh. Oh man is it fun to drive. I took it out last night to a church meeting and drove it home in the dark. Yes mom i'm still alive and had a great time. I would recommend this as daily transportation to work or for a joy ride through the Garden of the Gods. (I will post pics later) Enjoy your gas guzzlers and i'll be sure to think of you when I pull up to the pump!

Betsy Ross

Here is Emily as Betsy Ross. Two of the third grade classes did a "Walk Through Time" where all the kids stood at posts all over the room and when you pushed a button next to them, they would tell you about themselves. It was really cute. There were all sorts of famous Americans from Annie Oakley to Harry Houdini. We loved Betsy Ross.:)

Grossology

We have an exhibit at our local museum entitled Grossology and it is QUITE crude. Probably a heavenly exhibit for people who have wondered about farting, burping, boogers, and other fascinating topics! Inspite of the disgusting boogers hanging from a plastic man and the plastic rectum you could crawl through the girls had a blast. So hence the photos of Hannah inside the intestines and Emma and Martha shooting ping pong balls up a big nose (when the nose became too full it sneezed all the balls out). Be happy this exhibit isn't at your local museum yet...

Gabes birthday

Holly made cake cars, and the kids got to decorate and smear them all over and make a big mess, then get their butts kicked. Loads of fun.

More pics. Mom & Dad in Utah.

Sweet Five Year Old

Hannah turned 5 on Feb 24th and here she is in all her glory. She reveled in "her day" to be queen. We found a dress that came with a matching dress for a doll and she proudly took both to church with her. She walked around saying "Everybody will think I am SOOO beautiful." We savor her sweetness because five year olds don't stay five for very long. She's already asking if she can have another birthday tomorrow:)

Family pic

So we know it has been awhile since we've done a family pic and thought it was probably way overdue. This was the self timer mode on our camera so we are still working on it but hopefully it is satisfactory for now!

"Mom, What's a henchman?"

So Kate asked the question the other day, "Mom, what's a henchman?" I was a little taken aback-henchman isn't a regular part of our vocabulary-but I just told her it's kind of a bad guy who takes out people that you don't like. (that's my definition-I'm sure Webster's is better) So of course I had to ask why she was asking about it, and she said, "Well, you know Johnny in my class? He was following me around and said that he would be my henchman for me." Nice. I love kindergarten romances-so sweet and innocent and henchman-y.

The Big Dig

Thought I would share with you our latest project - digging a well. The crew arrived on Friday am and promptly got stuck in the mud. They remained there until about 4pm until I drove down the road and begged a guy at a construction site to come and help us. He tried a bulldozer first...

Then he brought in the serious equipment...

Which came in handy for other projects as well...

They used it to drag the well rig into position...

Saturday they got around to drilling...and hit water around 300ft - over 100 gallons per minute! Check out their motto on the side of the truck! Boy are we glad this project is over!

Sorry - this picture is out of position - it was supposed to be first!
