Grandma's Funeral

Here are a few photos from our time together in Utah. We said farewell to Grandma. Had a wonderful time being together. Fun to see Zach at BYU and talk to him! I'll put more photos on when I have a minute.

COLORADO SNOW!

Here is a semi-typical winter, (usually they have more snow) at Valerie's parent's ranch. It's hard to believe the vast differences even though we live in the same state. We are definetley not complaining!

More Chihuly

Hey everybody, it's Jeremiah. I just wanted to post a few more pictures of the glass exhibit that Julia didn't...I really enjoyed the exhibit, it was really cool. Unfortunately, I think I got a little too trigger-happy (well how could you not with that kind of exhibit) and the camera ran out of batteries before I got halfway through. At least I got to fiddle around with the camera.

So, what has been happening lately? For me, not much. I did watch the Super Bowl (Yay Giants!) but nothinng else has really happened. I've been playing around on the computer on a bunch of different movie-making programs: Terragen, Terragen 2, Monkeyjam, Gimp 2, Word, and the all-important Star Wars Battlefront 2, Galactic Civilizations 2, and Supreme Commander. Well, besides playing computer games I have been doing some interesting things on Terragen. I recently found Terragen 2, the much better version of Terragen. Here is an example from Terragen 2.

Cool, huh? A little weird (it's my first time) but I like it.

Wait - I just remembered something! Emily is getting glasses! Evidently she's near-sighted, which is weird. I never thought Emily+glasses=a possibility. Well, happy blogging! -Jeremiah

Chihuly Glass

Yesterday we went to a place called Phipp's Conservatory in downtown Pittsburgh. Phipp's is a place where there is a wide variety of plants amd trees from all over the world. It has about 10-15 rooms filled with plants of all sorts. Jeremiah took some pictures of beautiful flowers we found (as shown above) in some of the rooms. The first two pictures are actually not plants. While we were there, the conservatory was displaying blow glass art made by a very talented artist by the name of Dave Chihuly. The first picture called the Rose Crystal Tower was taken outside. Before Chihuly made everything, he came and plotted out what and where he was going to put in each room. He placed the tower outside so that those who looked at it from the angle the picture was taken could also see the cathedral behind it in the distance. The second picture was also made of glass. There were tons of other amazing and beautiful glass exhibits. We had a great time! -Julia

Grandma news

For some reason I couldn't post on some of the individual pictures. My computer skills are very lacking. Most of you know that we had snow as well. We had 8 inches, which is unusual for here. We were without power for 24 hours. We used the generator off and on and just wore lots of clothes all day. We went to bed early and piled the blankets on cause that is where it was warm. We had to fo to town for gas for the generator and finally got up our hill by backing the Landcruiser up in high 4wheel. It was gorgeous, but after staying home for 3 days i about went crazy. I think we need to get a camera that we can post pictures too. I have painted a wall in the den red and I need everyone to visit to tell me if i need to change the red or just get rid of it. It scares me. I loved the pic of my good sister. Mom is not too well, in fact I don't know how she keeps going and of course Louise is the angel who cares for her. Love to you all. You are the best.....
